About Our School
Kalaafaanu School was built with the aid of the Government of Japan. The Foundation Stone was laid on 16th February 1988.
The construction was completed, and the school was formally opened on the 25th of July 1989 by the former President, Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom.
Kalaafaanu, twenty years from its inception, the ever majestic structure stands as a proud symbol of the Maldivian government’s commitment to primary education and as a silent testimony to the generosity of the people of Japan.
For the students and teachers who have had the previlege of passing through its gate, Kalaafaanu stands as a symbol of intergrity, stability and continuity and is also a special remainder of life’s simple pleasures and innocence.
